Summary

Discrimination in education shows a significant increase from 13% to 20%. The groups most affected by this type of situation are the Roma, East Asian and non-Mediterranean African populations.

Discrimination mainly takes the form of teasing, insults, and harassment from other students, as well as exclusion from games and activities.

Our project was born with the idea of combating this type of situation in the community with the idea of promoting both inclusion and equality among young immigrants residing in the European Union with the aim of fostering a sense of European citizenship among them and their communities.

To be able to archive these objectives we decided to use beach sports as a tool for it, because these sports are one of the best methods to promote respect, feeling of unity and equality while being part of a team.

We have the need in all organizations partner to use the water sport to connect to the immigrant communities and to use this powerful aspect as skill development of the young people and social inclusion tool.

Through water sport activities, opportunities will be provided for young people to actively participate in the community. This may include events, competitions and programs that foster collaboration and a sense of belonging.

The Manual created as part of the project will serve as a practical guide for youth association workers and thus for young people in the community. It will provide specific resources and methods for addressing racism, which can translate into increased support and resources available to local Young people.

Workers trained in methods to combat racism will become role models for young people. Their commitment and knowledge will help inspire young people to follow a path of respect, tolerance, and appreciation for diversity.

Local Youth workers will acquire expertise in methods and strategies to combat racism. The training will focus on the effective use of water sports as a tool to promote inclusion, diversity, and equality.
